Welcome to
With two military veterans on the team, we are first and foremost a YouTube channel, producing military videos covering the Baltic and Nordic region.Contact us at hello [at] balticdefence.org
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS1. Are your videos AI-generated?
No! We can proudly say that our scripting (research), video editing, and voicing, is completely generated by real humans. We are a team of three. Two of us work on this channel alongside our respective full-time jobs, while our third team member does voiceover work professionally.Founder and team lead Kristoff, does all the video editing and filming on field trips.2. Where are you based?
Our team is scattered. One member lives in Vilnius, Lithuania while another is in the United States. Matthew, our 'voice', resides in South Africa.3. Where have I heard that voice before!?
Matthew is a founding member of the YouTube channel but he is also a professional voice artist and does work for other channels and programs.4. Who funds your work?
There are no organizations funding our work and revenue primarily comes from YouTube AdSense (advertisements placed before/within our videos). We also have a handful of viewers financially contributing to our work every month with small donations. We are open to sponsorships/collaborations, so reach out to us via email or Instagram if you have an idea!5. What makes you different from other military YouTube channels?
There are so many different military YouTube channels out there - and most of them simply re-report existing information. Yes, we do that too - but we also conduct field trips from time to time, attending media events across the region to produce more original reporting. There are a few military channels that do this as well, but it's definitely a much smaller group who are willing to take the time and expense for such opportunities!6. Your channel is called Baltic Defence Review - why do you have videos about Norway, the UK, etc?
Yes, admittedly we began this channel with a focus on defence news for the 3 Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia). However, as our channel grew, we realised that there was also a strong interest in other news around the region. We continue to report on notable Baltic news but have enjoyed the larger community of viewers, sharing their viewpoints and experiences from across the Northern Europe region.7. Who is your primary audience?
Everyone is welcome to watch our videos, although the type of content is more relatable to active and former members of the military. Weapons and military enthusiasts also tend to be attracted to our work.
